Water Mixable Oil Painting, From Start to Finish, 3 Session Adult Class

Water-Mixable Oils, From Start to Finish, 3 Session Adult Class

This is a three-session course; your place is reserved for all three dates when you register.

Adult painting class with Bill Lunshof

Discover the beauty of oil painting without the need for traditional solvents. In this three-session class, artist Bill Lunshof will guide you through the process of creating an oil painting from start to finish using water-mixable oils.

In this course, you’ll work on the landscape shown in the product images. The images include the reference photo and a finished painting by Bill, giving you a preview of the subject you’ll explore together.

You’ll begin with the foundations of a strong painting, learning how to simplify your subject, establish your composition, and create a solid starting point before moving into colour. From there, Bill will introduce colour mixing, brushwork, value, light and shadow, layering, and the finishing touches that bring a painting together.

Working over three sessions gives you time to slow down and experience how a painting develops. You’ll learn how to make thoughtful decisions at each stage instead of rushing toward the finished piece.

Bill brings his loose, expressive approach to oil painting and his love of capturing light and the natural world to every class. This course is ideal for anyone new to oils, as well as painters who want to refresh their skills, explore water-mixable oils, or feel more confident in their painting process.
